Acknowledgements of graces received through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński
Vision restored - TN, Europe
I was healed through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. In my opinion he is a saint.
The favor that I received from him was the restoration of my eyesight and healing of my nervous system. I had multiple sclerosis. Since I had the means, the best specialists treated me. However, I began feeling worse. I could not even walk to the nearby Doctor's office without my walking stick. I prayed for healing to Our Lady of Lourdes, but my condition continued to worsen. I lived in such sufferings for nine years. My body was aching, but my soul suffered far more.
In my illness, I was given to recognize my every act that offended God whenever I broke the commandment of loving Him and my neighbor. My suffering let me understand what sin is.
In the ninth year of my trials, when I was in my parish church, the priest was distributing prayercards with the novena to Mary Immaculate through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. I took this card and prayed in my heart: 'Reverend Father Stanislaus, how am I to pray and recite this novena, if I cannot see the letters? Please give me back my eyesight.' And within my heart I heard a voice saying: 'You shall recover your sight.' I was positive that I would see again.
My healing came quickly on the Assumption of Our Lady, on August 15. My eyesight has been restored. I can read and write, and my overall condition has also improved. I feel now almost as good as I did before my illness. The ailments of my nervous system also went away.
Painful lump disappears - HN, Europe
In July, I suddenly felt very ill. An examination showed tuberculosis of the vertebra in an advanced stage. According to the opinion of specialists at the Army Hospital in Warsaw, my illness had reached its third stage, which was confirmed by X-rays.
One of the vertebras in my spinal column was badly damaged. I was hospitalized for several months, unable even to sit up since there was a danger of breaking my weakened spine. After three months of intensive care, there was still no sign of improvement.
Then, in October, my mother had a Holy Mass offered for my intention through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński as well as prayers for his beatification. On the day of the Mass, I was fervently praying to Fr. Papczyński for my health.
The next night I could not sleep due to some strange excitement, and suddenly I felt that something had happened in my spine. I experienced a kind of pain as if I had been cut by a scalpel. At once, I felt the sore spot on my spine where for months there had been a big lump and under it -- an ossified painful growth. Instead of this big painful lump, I found only a small remnant and a little swelling.
I understood that a miracle through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński had been granted to me.
In the morning, there was the usual doctors' visit. They saw at once the difference in my health condition and noticed that the big lump was gone. Their amazement was limitless.
I began to recover very quickly, and soon I was released from the hospital. The tuberculosis has not returned.
I constantly pray to Fr. Stanislaus and am eternally grateful to him for his help in restoring my health.
I am now totally pain free - JB, Venice, FL
I had been suffering from severe lower back pain for quite some time. About a year ago, it became very bad in my lumbar and right hip area. Walking, sleeping, even sitting was painful. I had been going to a chiropractor to seek relief but without success. I am 60 years old.
Last week, March 1 to be exact, I was sitting in a hot tub of water, seeking relief and was reading your Spring 2001 "BULLETIN." I read with interest the letter on "Graces Received" and the powerful physical healings attributed to Fr. Papczyński. I believe in intercessory prayer, so I thought why not seek his help.
That night I asked Fr. Papczyński to intercede with the Father to heal my back. This was a frequent aspiration over the next few days.
On Sunday morning, March 4, while lying in bed, I felt and heard a "click" in the area of pain.
I am now totally pain free. I can walk and kneel without any discomfort. Yesterday, as I do each week while here in Florida, I played golf without any pain or problem whatsoever. I could bend and rotate with no discomfort.
Praise God and thanks to the powerful intercession of Fr. Papczyński, I have been healed. I have shared this with my wife and friends here in Florida and will do so when I return to my home in Albany, NY. Until now I never knew of this priest.
My leg hurt me for over 10 years - ZN, Europe
I had varicose veins on my legs. One of my legs particularly hurt me for over 10 years. Twice I went to the hospital because of it, with no success. I had been told that I suffered from a thrombus that blocked the circulation in my leg.
Many forms of treatment were applied, including surgery. Nothing helped. Seeing the futility of all efforts, the doctors pronounced me disabled and eligible for disability payments. However, I still went to see one doctor after another. But the results were still deplorable. I was not even able to walk, and, because of this big wound on my leg, it was painful even to lie down.
I am single and live in an apartment. Everything was even more difficult because of this since I could count only on my neighbors' help. At that time, I was only 43. I thought of my future with sadness and depression.
Once two women came to visit me and they saw my depression and the wound. Not wanting to upset me, they did not say anything and left. About that time, I got a copy of the novena to the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński.
Oh, with what fervency, zeal, and tears did I begin to pray for healing! What was not accomplished by medicine was done by prayer. In two weeks' time, my wound was healed. My story can be certified by the two women who came to see me and also by my confessor, our pastor.
Boy recovers after Holy Communion - WN and AN, Europe
I was ill with spotted fever and typhoid fever. At the time, I was only 9 years old. The doctors pronounced my condition hopeless. My mother obtained permission for me to receive my first confession and First Holy Communion in the hospital.
I was conscious when I received Holy Communion. I mention this specifically because I was mostly unconscious at that time.
As I learned later from my mother, she prayed for my health through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński, and she attributed my recovery to his intercession. The following was written by the mother of the man who wrote the above letter:
I would like to add to the testimony of my son by saying that all of the children also making their First Holy Communion at our parish on that day were praying the novena to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński along with me. We were led in prayer by our priest. I came to him for help when doctors lost all hope of saving my son's life.
Our prayers were heard and, after receiving his First Communion, my son began to feel better. When some of the doctors saw him again, they could not believe their eyes and said: "Oh, is this patient still alive?"
For all that the Lord has given me through Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński's intercession, I am deeply grateful and will always be until my last day.
Breast surgery unnecessary - BC, Patchogue, NY
On Friday, April 6, I was scheduled for surgery to do a biopsy of a density in my right breast. The radiologist took another mammogram and sonogram before the surgery.
After comparing the x-rays to the previous ones, the technician and the surgeon conferred for a while, which seemed like an eternity, and then gave me the good news that no surgery was necessary. Only a small sebaceous cyst was removed that day, which was benign and had no relation to the original proposed surgery.
I had been asking for the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Stanislaus Papczyński for days before my surgery and still am. I promised to write about this. Thanks be to God.
I was able to see out of both eyes! - LP, Wethersfield, CT
Father Stanislaus Papczyński answered my prayers. I had experienced a severe problem with my right eye virtually overnight after being in good health.
After several medical specialists had examined my eye and conducted tests, I was still given no explanation of how it came about and when I could expect it to go away. I had to be patient about the problem, but it was hard since I provide not only moral but monetary support for my family.
One evening, while trying to calm down, I reached for my mail. The Summer 2001 issue of Marian Helper had arrived. Prior to bed, I began to read the articles. The one on St. Faustina was fascinating. I put the magazine down, so as not to strain the one eye I was relying on, and went to bed.
The next evening, prior to bed, I picked up the magazine again. Only this time, I was mesmerized by the "Graces Received" page, and I asked Fr. Papczyński to intercede for me. With tears flowing down from my eyes, I begged Fr. Papczyński to intercede and held up his picture on the page over my bad eye. I felt calm and went to bed.
The following morning, I awoke and was able to see out of both eyes! The right was still somewhat weak, but I was able to see out of it. I fell to my knees and thanked the Venerable Servant of God. I believe that he interceded for me.
I continue to pray to him several times a day and honor him. I will continue to honor him until the Good Lord calls me.
I phoned your 1-800 orderline and requested the prayercards of Fr. Papczyński and have given them out to my family. We are all currently supporting his beatification. Father Papczyński healed my eye and let me know that this was a wake-up call for me to slow down. My family and I come first. My job comes last.
My health began to improve very fast - BN, Europe
I was ill and unable to work, suffering from many different ailments. A medical examination brought bad news. Doctors predicted a long period of treatments, also involving a hospital stay.
My husband, however, would not hear about any treatments and became very rude to me. Meanwhile, my illness continued for two years and was getting worse. I found myself in a hopeless situation.
I thought of stopping the sporadic treatments altogether. My future seemed unclear. My husband was very angry with me and did not want to pay for the medicine. He was still treating me badly.
Being completely resigned to my plight, I went to church. I think that it was December 8 -- the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. After Mass, I was still sitting in the church, feeling very ill and tired, and thinking of my future.
Suddenly, I noticed a prayercard in the pew. It included a novena prayer to the Venerable Servant of God, Stanislaus Papczyński.
With hope and trust, I began to pray this novena -- first at the church, and then at home. And everything started to change for the better. First, peace and trust in the Lord came to me. I found that was not nervous or desperate anymore.
Then my health began to improve very fast. Finally, the tests showed good results. Gradually, even my husband changed.
I became even more faithful and trusting in the Lord. Now I often turn to Fr. Stanislaus for intercession with many different needs.
Prayercard arrived day after tragedy - MF, Eatontown, NJ
Much to my surprise, recently I received Marian Helper magazine in the mail, and I read the articles with interest. The article on Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński intrigued me, and I sent for the prayercard, which arrived the day after my son was killed in the World Trade Center.
I think that this magazine was sent to prepare me for my son's passing. I am saying prayers for the sainthood of Fr. Stanislaus.
Grandchildren "arrived home all right" - RK, E-mail
Three of my grandchildren recently visited Thailand with their mother. The youngest of the three children is very frail.
Shortly after they arrived, we heard news that the children were seriously ill. We were told that they had then recovered from this illness.
Yet, once again, shortly before they were to return home, they became ill a second time. And the youngest was more seriously ill than the rest.
At that time, I was reading Marian Helper and read about Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. I immediately asked him to intercede for the children and to bring them home safely.
Thank God and the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus -- they arrived home a little sick, but otherwise all right.
I found out later that the children had been so ill in Thailand that they had to be hospitalized.
My doctor really surprised me - BW, Hadley, MA
I was involved in a major car accident five years ago in which my husband was killed and I sustained brain injuries. I was unconscious for a week.
While still in a coma, I was given IV feedings. And while getting the IV's, the doctors found out that I had sugar diabetes. Since then, my sugar had been controlled by diet.
Then, a month ago, my doctor told me that he thought it was time for me to go on medication for the diabetes. I was concerned since I am very sensitive to all medications, and now live alone most of the time.
I tried the medication that my doctor thought I should be on, and I had a frightening reaction. When I called my doctor to tell him about the reaction, he told me that I should continue taking it!
Then, I had a visit with my doctor and had been praying to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński to give him guidance and wisdom. And during the visit, my doctor really surprised me. He wants me to stop the medication for a month and see a nutritionist to give me a diet plan.
Thanks, Fr. Stanislaus.
My sister's husband returned home - A Sister of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Europe
I am a religious sister. But I do mostly physical work and read little except for books that are recommended for meditation or other spiritual topics.
A while ago, I ran across an article about the Venerable Servant of God, Stanislaus Papczyński. It included a picture of him, and I was attracted to his holy, warm personality. So, I cut out the picture and put it in one of my books for spiritual reading.
Then, this year, I received bad news from my sister who was living in Vilnius, Lithuania. Her husband had taken to drinking and had left her and their four little children. She decided to come to Poland and try to rebuild her family life there, raising her children in the Catholic faith. Her husband, although they were separated, opposed the move.
When I learned about all this, I remembered the image of Fr. Stanislaus that I had tucked away in one of my books. I took it out and began to say a novena to the Venerable Servant of God, fervently asking his intercession for a resolution to this difficult matter.
A few weeks later, a letter came from my sister containing the joyful news that her husband had returned home. He asked my sister's forgiveness, confessing his faults and crying tears of repentance. He stopped his drinking and promised to better himself in the future.
He also agreed to their moving to Poland. He, himself, began to make the necessary preparations for it. He has become a much better person.
Ovarian cyst was gone - CH, Plano, TX
I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst in Aug. of 2001. Then, after three months of daily prayer to Fr. Stanislaus, the Venerable Servant of God, my prayers were answered. After having a sonogram this past week, I was told my ovarian cyst was gone.
I have shared this story with many. Please send me a few more of his prayercards to share with others.
Instant recovery - CB, Brooklyn, NY
Upon reading the latest issue of Marian Helper, I said a quick prayer to Fr. Stanislaus for a chronic pain in my side. At the same time, I was planning to send for his prayercards. To my surprise, the pain completely vanished immediately. Thank you, Fr. Stanislaus.
Would you kindly mail me the prayercards? I can't wait to spread the good news in thanksgiving for the quickest response that I have ever received to a prayer. And please feel free to use my testimony. The headline could be: "Instant Recovery."
>Pre-cancerous condition halted - JH, Athens, GA
About a year ago, my routine pap smear was found to be abnormal, but the results were misfiled and I was not informed.
Recently, these results were discovered and communicated to me. Another pap smear was taken and found to be abnormal. A consequent biopsy indicated dysplasia, a pre-cancerous condition that can spread if not treated early. And presumably, I had had this condition for an entire year without treatment!
My physician performed surgery to remove the affected tissue. Meanwhile, my husband and I asked he Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus, to help. We asked that the surgery would be successful with no spreading of the condition.
After the surgery, yet another pap smear was normal, indicating the absence of dysplasia! Since this condition had presumably lasted a year without treatment and did not spread, we attributed this to the intercession of Venerable Stanislaus.
Favorable result to medical test - BH, Bronx, NY
When I arrived home on Tuesday night, I found Marian Helper magazine. The first thing I always read is the "Graces Received" page. Anyhow, I read about the favors people had gotten and thought, well, I really need something, too. Let me ask Fr. Stanislaus.
The following day I prayed. What I asked for was a favorable result to a medical test. I did not think I would hear until at least that Friday, or maybe even the coming Monday.
Well, Fr. Stanislaus gives very fast service! The answer was in the mail when I got home that day. The results were fine -- no problems.
Sore is healed - LB, Bradenton, FL
I got the Fr. Stanislaus prayercard from the Marian Helpers, and I want to thank you so much for the prayers.
I asked for the help of Fr. Stanislaus to heal a sore on my right leg. My leg healed up soon, and I know that Fr. Stanislaus heard my words. This healing was important as I am a diabetic and have to be careful. I can walk better now.
I will continue to pray to Fr. Stanislaus. Now I want him to help my daughter with a drinking problem.
Unbearable pain subsides - AC, Alexandria, VA
I'd been home one week after a hernia operation, and the doctor said that I was OK. But then I started to have this terrible pain in my side and in my shoulder and back. This was very difficult because I live alone. I have only one son living, and he is never home.
The pain became so unbearable that I walked the floor all night. I tried taking some medicine, but it didn't help.
I was just about to call 911 when I remembered that you had sent me some lovely prayercards to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. I took one and held it over the affected area -- my side and back -- and I said the prayers over and over, asking Fr. Papczyński to help me.
Within one hour, the pain started to subside. I was so grateful that I sat down and cried in thanks. I'll never forget Fr. Papczyński. I am now greatly in favor of his beatification.
I am very thankful - YM, Kingsport, TN
I am very thankful to the Venerable Servant of God Stanislaus for his intercession to our God for a grace received.
My husband was very ill for about two weeks. He had excruciating pain in his right leg. His pain was so severe that he could not even walk a few steps to the bathroom.
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński to intercede for my husband's pain to go away. Fr. Stanislaus gained that grace for my husband. He is still having problems with his leg, but he can now walk without that pain.
Thanks be to God.
Mother relieved of depression - PK, Hammond, IN
This letter is in response to a favor received through the intercession of Venerable Fr. Stanislaus.
My mother was hospitalized with congestive heart failure and complications from diabetes.
When she was discharged from the hospital, she went to live with my sister. My mother was depressed and would not go to church or even talk with her friends. She refused to give herself insulin shots, and it was a struggle to get her to take her other medications.
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus to strengthen her and to take away her fear and depression.
Praise be to God! She is now back home, attends Mass regularly, and socializes with her friends. She gives herself her insulin shots and takes her medications as prescribed. She has gained her strength back and is doing very well on her own.
Thank you, Fr. Stanislaus, for my mother's healing and for being our special friend. May we soon call you Saint Stanislaus.
The grace to change - BW, Phoenix, AZ
I have prayed for years for the healing of my alcoholic son.
In the Winter 2001-2002 Marian Helper, I read about Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński and healings through his intercession. At that time, my son's situation was getting serious, continuing for weeks until it was non-stop. I was afraid for his sanity and his life.
Then a change occurred. One day he said he had to change -- go to AA, start a new life. He had been exposed to AA and other programs over the years, but nothing clicked.
This time was different. He went to AA. He tried. He even took a drinking buddy to meetings and tried to help him. Whatever happened, it's a miracle.
It will take time to rebuild a life damaged by years of drinking. But, at this time, my son is sober and is trying to stay sober "one day at a time."
Husband's final wishes - DA, Hampden, MA
My husband had kidney failure and needed a new kidney. He was on dialysis for two years. I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus all last year. On Nov. 6, 2001, we received the call that a perfect match was available. On Nov. 7, 2001, the transplant operation was successful.
My husband was dialysis free for 28 days. On Dec. 5, 2001, he died of many complications. His new kidney was working perfectly until his death. My husband got his three wishes: to get a new kidney, be dialysis free, and to die before me.
Felt connected to Fr. Stanislaus - AA, Bridgeton, NJ
Four years ago, I was diagnosed with lymphoma (Stage IV). After chemotherapy, I had been in remission until last May when a lump started growing on my face. In a two-week period, the lump slowly disappeared. I believe this was the result of a healing received in June.
I received no treatment -- just prayers. My oncologist was expecting more growths and was waiting to treat multiple sites.
In October, I sat in the waiting room, very tense, and I opened Marian Helper magazine to "Graces Received." I wanted to ask him for a perfect checkup. But I hesitated, thinking, "How can I suddenly pray to someone with a name I can't pronounce and of whom I have no knowledge!"
Then I read "On Pilgrimage with Marian Founder" by Fr. Joseph, MIC, which noted how Fr. Papczyński was zealous in helping the souls in purgatory. I felt a connection to him, as I offer my day for the souls in purgatory.
As of now, after various tests, I am cancer free.
Sleeping problem solved - JF, e-mail
"Father Stan," as I call him, has so many times helped me, especially with regards to my ailments. His latest help concerns my parents. My father was suffering from serious acid reflux and chills so much that he couldn't get to sleep at night. That's bad for a 74-year-old man with heart troubles and diabetes.
He normally doesn't pray novenas, but he agreed to pray the short novena to Fr. Stan.
Since he started the novena, his acid reflux has gone. God is gracious to those who put their trust in Him. Thank you, Fr. Stan!
Brother finds job - YM, Kingsport, TN
My brother was without a job for about two years. He was having a very difficult time. His wife told him to leave his own house many times. But my brother is a good son, husband, and father. He did not want to leave his children. He loves them so much. While his wife worked, he would do all the chores at home and take care of the children.
My sisters and I helped my brother all we could. As a family, we have helped each other in bad times.
I decided to pray to the Venerable Servant of God Fr. Stanislaus to obtain a job for my brother, and he did. My brother now has a full-time job. I give thanks to Fr. Stanislaus for this great favor.
Home is sold - SPC, Lockport, IL
Our home was for sale for eight months. I started asking Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński to help us. A week after I started praying, the realtor called to tell us we had a buyer.
Anxiety lessens - LML, Laughlin, NV
I have always been a very nervous and anxious person. So I started praying to Fr. Stanislaus, asking him to intercede to our Blessed Lord to help me rid myself of these feelings.
I feel that our Lord has answered Fr. Papczyński's prayers for me as I have overcome a great deal of these feelings of anxiety. I shall continue to pray, so I can become completely free of these feelings.
Prompt surgery a success - LA, Chicago, IL
Thank you for the prayercards you sent me. I immediately prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for an appropriate date for my eye surgery.
I saw my doctor on March 7, and he decided to operate on March 14. I felt very nervous at such short notice, but I believed that it was the answer to my prayer.
We rushed through the physical check-ups and medical tests required prior to surgery. The surgery was a success. My heartfelt thanks to Fr. Stanislaus for the prompt response through his intercession. Now I'm praying for a full recovery of my vision.
Business picks up - BP, Nutley, NJ
I have a small deli in Nutley -- a "corner" store. I love it here. But my business was very slow.
Now that's changed. Since I began my novena to Fr. Stanislaus about three weeks ago, business has picked up.
I am sure that Jesus wants me here, and I will continue my novena. I thank Fr. Stanislaus every day for his intercession, and I pray for his beatification.
Health problem diagnosed - RY, Waldorf, MD
For the past four years, I have been having a problem with being off balance when I walk and being short of breath. And because I have a heart condition, the doctors kept changing my medication, which would make it worse.
I was sent for many diagnostic tests, and everything would come up negative. I was having a really bad episode in March, and I called and requested a prayercard of Fr. Stanislaus. I prayed to him that someone would be able to figure out what was wrong with me.
On my next office visit, my regular doctor was out, so I had to see one of his associates. He reviewed my file and suggested that I have a pulmonary function test. During all the tests that I had done in the previous four years, no one ever suggested this one.
When I had the pulmonary function test done, it was discovered that I have asthma. I am now on medication and feel like I have my life back again. My thanks to Fr. Stanislaus for his intervention.
No trace of heart defect - HJ, Mt. Prospect, IL
I think this is a miracle.
I had received the prayercard from the Marian Helpers. When Mark's mother told me about his condition, I started to pray to Fr. Stanislaus each morning before I said my rosary. I took the prayercard and said the prayer, asking Fr. Stanislaus to intercede that Mark's heart would be healed. See the following letter that I had Mark's mother write about what happened.
In January 2002, Mark was diagnosed through an echocardiogram to have a hole in his heart (called atrial septal defect), first seen by Dr. Aldridge in Plymouth, IN. We were sent to Cardiologist Paul Howard in South Bend, IN, and had another echocardiogram in February.
Then, a couple of weeks later, he had a systematic stress test. There were several physicians present in the room with Dr. Howard. I, too, was in the room. At that time, more than one hole was discovered, and I was advised Mark would need open heart surgery. Dr. Howard would refer us to Dr. Mark Hoyer at Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Hoyer is a pediatric cardiologist.
In March, Dr. Howard did a Trans Esophageal Echo on Mark and saw several holes. He then sent the tape to Dr. Hoyer who confirmed this. We saw Dr. Hoyer in May and had more tests (Echo and Tee). Mark's surgery was scheduled for June 21, 2002.
After Mark was put to sleep, another "EE" was done just prior to surgery. The holes were gone. Dr. Hoyer examined him fully but stated the holes were gone and the heart looked good. He told us that he had been called a "Miracle Worker" in the past, but he stated this was "out of his hands."
Daughter accepted to college - BS, Bethany, CT
I have been praying to the Venerable Servant of God Stanislaus Jesus Mary Papczyński for my daughter.
We struggled through many decisions about her academic future. She is our only child. We are a strong Catholic family. Her first choice of an educational institution was approved. I prayed to him on an appropriate choice for her to do the will of God. I placed it in His hands. Never, ever did we expect her dream to come true. I am writing to tell you as requested in the prayer for beatification card you mailed to me. I prayed faithfully to Venerable Stanislaus. I am grateful for his blessing at that tumultuous time.
Thank you for your fine work. My mother had been a devoted financial supporter of your work for many years up until her death a few years ago. I guess I am carrying on for her.
Found employment - DW, Acworth, GA
I would like to share graces received from God through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński.
A week ago, I started praying, asking Fr. Stanislaus to pray for me to receive employment. I went on an interview on April 20, 2002. Today, I received a call offering me employment. I will be 62 years old next month, and I have been praying for two years for employment. I have been truly blessed through Fr. Stanislaus's intercession.
Purse returned - SL, Clarion, PA
I would like to acknowledge the assistance of Fr. Stanislaus, along with our Dear Lord Jesus, his Very Blessed Mother, St. Anthony, and St. Theresa.
I had lost my purse with, of course, all my cards, important items, checks, and money in it.
Strangely, I had just ordered a Fr. Stanislaus prayercard the day before and decided to add him to my list of those to whom I was praying for help in finding my purse. I told Fr. Stanislaus if he helped me, I would write you. Three days later, I received a call that my purse had been found in a restaurant I have never been in just a short distance from my home. When I went to pick it up, I was very surprised to find that not one thing had been taken -- not even the cash or checks -- and that it was completely intact. I will add here that I did pray fervently that the person who was in possession of my purse would return it, and that it would not be an occasion of sin for the person.
Thank you to all who helped me in finding it.
Thanks to everyone at Marian Helper. I love your magazine and look forward to receiving it.
Healing for unborn baby - MEF, Baltimore, MD
On March 18, 2002, my daughter Susan (in her 20th week of pregnancy) was sent by her obstetrician to a perinatologist for an ultrasound. It was to be a routine scan, since everything seemed to be perfectly normal. During the ultrasound, three things became apparent:
1. The baby was two weeks behind in growth.
2. The amniotic fluid level was very low to the point of being dangerous.
3. A Doppler flow study showed "gaps" in the blood flow through the umbilical cord.
The doctor said that this third condition was "non-reversible," and the baby would most likely die in utero. His opinion was that "it would take a miracle for the baby to survive." His only offer was complete bed rest with a caution that it may not help, but that it wouldn't hurt either.
Stunned by the diagnosis, Susan called her obstetrician, who suggested that she see a colleague who is the head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Southern California Medical School in Los Angeles. She was able to get an appointment for March 20.
When, after making the appointment, Susan called me to tell me of this, I remembered reading about Fr. Stanislaus in Marian Helper magazine. I had sent for some of the prayercards and had just received them. I suggested to Susan that we should ask Fr. Stanislaus for a miracle. I copied the prayers and faxed them to her immediately. That very night my family here in Baltimore and Susan and her husband, Dave, in California began our prayers to Fr. Stanislaus. We prayed specifically that the gaps in the umbilical cord would be healed.
Two days later, when Susan saw the doctor in Los Angeles, he ran the same tests (ultrasound and Doppler Flow study). The baby was behind in growth and the amniotic fluid was low, but there were no gaps in the blood flow through the umbilical cord. The cord was perfectly normal! Father Stanislaus had heard our prayers. The doctor repeated the test several times to be sure, and the cord was perfectly normal. His opinion was that the baby had suffered some "insult" early on and he cautioned that if the baby did survive, he could have some handicap or disability. The baby would need to grow sufficiently and the fluid level would need to hold or increase to get the baby to at least 27 or 28 weeks in order to give him a chance for a safe delivery.
We began to pray to Fr. Stanislaus for the baby's growth and an increase in fluid. On Tuesday night (two weeks later), the night before Susan's next visit to the doctor, she was lying in bed when she was prompted to look toward the door of the bedroom. Standing there was a man, slender, dressed in a white robe. He had short hair and a closely cropped beard. His hand was raised, and as he looked at her, she said, "He seemed to float toward the door and was gone."
As the weeks passed, the baby continued to grow and the amniotic fluid level came up to normal!
Because of the doctors' concern about a lag in the baby's development, they decided to deliver the baby at 32 weeks.
To our great delight (and the doctors' astonishment) a perfectly beautiful Michael Joseph was born at 1:08 p.m. on June 17th at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. He weighed 3 lbs. 6 oz. And was 14 3/4" long. His scores on the APGAR scale far exceeded the norm for premature babies. When Michael met the requirements to come home (proper weight, ability to feed, good respiration, etc.), he was joyously welcomed by his family, especially his "big brother," David (age 3). He had spent 32 days in the loving hands of the staff at Cottage Hospital.
We know we were granted a miracle through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus. We are grateful to him and grateful to God for His wonderful gift of life!
We are confident that Fr. Stanislaus will soon be recognized as "Blessed" and eventually be declared "Saint Stanislaus Papczyński" by the Universal Church.
I left California (after five months) for home on September 17th, which I am told is Fr. Stanislaus's anniversary of death. I left my precious grandson in Fr. Stanislaus's hands and in the care of a very loving family.
I declare all that I have written to be accurate to the best of my knowledge.
Found medical care - PD, Fond du Lac, WI
I have been out of work since Jan. 21, 2002. My unemployment compensation has been exhausted, my health insurance lapsed due to my inability to pay, and my very limited personal assets are completely depleted. I have no job prospects, I have myriad mild to serious medical problems emerging, and no family members are financially able to help me. A personal friend with means even refused me a loan based on my lack of ability to repay her. I felt I had nowhere to turn except to heaven. My major concern was getting medical care without money or insurance.
An earlier novena to Fr. Stanislaus was favorably answered, which I wrote to you about last year. Shortly thereafter, perhaps in early December, I began a second novena.
In early January 2003, Fr. Stan began to open doors to me at free clinics and community-sponsored health care programs that I didn't know about. Thanks be to God, I am now getting the medical attention I so desperately need.
I'm still praying for a miraculous means of ongoing financial support due to continuing medical problems and/or the possibility of federal disability income, with every confidence that Fr. Stan is interceding for me, and that God's will will be done.
This may not seem like a miracle to many, nor will it contribute much to Fr. Stan's cause, but I want everyone to know that he is attentive to our needs, and that he responds quickly!
Decided on nuptials - MV, Des Moines, IA
This wouldn't be enough to qualify for help in your quest for sainthood for Fr. Stanislaus. I thought it significant enough to report, though. My grandson Dan (28 years old) had been dating Melissa for three years. It didn't seem that he wanted to make up his mind to marry her, and they're such a good match. A few months ago, I asked Fr. Stanislaus for help in this situation. As of Jan. 3, 2003, they are engaged and planning a summer wedding.
Grateful for recovery - BC, Shelburne Falls, MA
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for a safe surgery and recovery, and he answered prayers for both. I thank you for introducing him to me in your Marian Helper magazine.
Exam showed no cancer - PB, Round Lake, IL
Through the powerful intercession of Fr. Stanislaus, the biopsy that was performed after my endoscopy exam showed no cancer.
I thank not only Fr. Stanislaus but St. Padre Pio. Oh, the power of faith and prayer.
Callous gone - LB, New London, CT
Approximately two months ago, I read in Marian Helper magazine letters written about miraculous cures that faithful people had received through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus. I, in turn, wrote to you requesting a prayercard. The reason for this request was that my daughter, Tina, had a callous on her finger that wasn't going away with over-the-counter medication. Once I started saying the prayers to Fr. Stanislaus daily, the results were totally amazing, almost immediately. Within a month, the callous was completely gone. I continue to pray for the beatification of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński in my daily prayers.
Heart surgery successful - CM, Bronx, NY
Last year one of our priests was about to say Mass, when all of sudden, he fainted and was taken to the hospital. The hospital discovered that he had a very serious heart condition and sent him to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where they found he had to have quadruple bypass surgery.
Employment found - EH, South Hadley, MA
My son Tom was in need of a job. He is married with three children. I prayed to Venerable Stanislaus, and now my son is starting a new job next week.
Cataract surgery successful - Anonymous
My husband recently had surgery done to remove a cataract from his eye, and I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński for a safe and successful operation. It was a complete success, and he can see very well - almost 20-20 from his eye that had surgery. He was almost blind before then. It is great for him to see again. Thanks to this venerable servant of God.
Successful tests - CO, San Bernadino, CA
My dad recently took an important test. During that time, my sister and I were preoccupied with schoolwork. No matter how tight our schedule was, we did our best to find time to pray. Among the prayers we've said to aid us and our dad (most especially) are these: the chaplet to the Holy Spirit, prayer to Blessed Mary of Mount Carmel, Novena of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, prayer to St. Jude Thaddeus, prayer to St. Nino, and prayers through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński.
No broken bone - BP, Fond Du Lac, WI
I'm a 74-year-old widow. I fell this past week while walking my son's dog. I tripped over the large dog's leash and fell on my chin on a cement sidewalk. I believe Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński interceded for me. I did require six stitches on my chin, but I feel it was a miracle that I didn't break my jaw. I prayed to St. Jude, Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński, and the Blessed Virgin Mary while the x-rays were being examined that my jaw wouldn't be broken. I have a low income and need to work part-time, so I was worried about surgery to wire my jaw.
Stomach and neck feeling better - CE, El Paso, TX
I want to say "thank you" to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński from the bottom of my heart, for his intercession to Our Lord in heaven. His powerful prayers touch everyone. I had severe stomach and hiatal hernia burning my esophagus for over a month, and I kept losing weight. After a lot of tests - MRI and CAT scans - I had an endoscopy last week. It all turned out fine - only a lot of inflammation in my lower esophagus. After the test, I did not have a burning sensation in my esophagus. I am taking medication and eating much better. I'm so thankful. Also, my neck is worn out completely. (I have osteoporosis and arthritis.) It always hurts, but I've been doing well for a couple of weeks. I feel fine. Thank you.
Recovery from eating disorder - DG, Stuart, FL
I would like to thank Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński for the help my family received. During the last year, I came across your column, "Graces Received." At the time, we were going through problems with our granddaughter, dealing with the unexpected death of her mother, my daughter. She started to develop an eating disorder. As I was reading the different letters of the help received, I gave a short little prayer, nothing extraordinary, just a plea to help us help her. She seems to be on the road to recovery and is starting to eat again. There is no amount of thanks we could give to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński for helping us to avoid enduring another tragedy.
Mother and child doing fine - ASP, Woodside, NY
One Sunday morning, I got a text message on my cell phone from my youngest brother saying that he had just rushed his wife (who was 7 1/2 months pregnant) to the hospital because she was having contractions and spotting. This was very scary for me because she had already had two miscarriages.
Patient's outlook improved - JM, Santa Cruz, NM
My wife and I met Danny and Patti at the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration. Their hour was at 7 p.m.; ours is at 8 p.m. on Friday evenings. In November, they stopped doing their hour. Soon we found out that Danny had had one lung removed due to cancer. So we put his name on our prayer list, went to visit them, took them some groceries, helped them financially, and offered them our moral support.
Accepted into medical school - MC, e-mail
I read about Venerable Stanislaus in Marian Helper and called to receive a prayercard. I was in the process of applying to medical schools and began to pray to Fr. Stanislaus for his intercession to help me reach this goal. This was my second time applying to medical school; I was not accepted in my first attempt last year.
Employment found - BE, Newport, NH
I called and asked if you would send me a prayercard of Fr. Stanislaus, which you did. I moved to New Hampshire last Aug. 30, 2002. I had been looking for a job for almost a year with no luck. I went on interviews - many with no job offers. I had been praying to Fr. Stanislaus for about 3-4 weeks, and I went on three interviews for a job at an insurance company. Today they offered me the job. I start tomorrow, Aug. 7, 2003.
Couple is off drugs - JP, Tooele, UT
I am writing about graces my family received when I prayed the prayers on the prayercard of the Venerable Servant of God Stanislaus Papczyński. About a year and a half ago, I was very worried for my grandson and his wife. They were involved in drugs and the state had custody of their four children. Then, my friend who had been to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, told me about the Fr. Stanislaus prayercard and gave me one.
Healed of multiple sclerosis - IK, Saskatoon, SK, Canada

I believe that my prayers were answered when my daughter got a job she didn't expect. I said the novena prayers to Fr. Stanislaus, and I believe that God made this happen. Cyst not malignant - DP, Whittier, CA
I received a Fr. Stanislaus prayercard through your toll-free number. I had never heard of him before. I am extremely grateful I got the card, and I have been praying to him ever since. I had been praying to him that a cyst I had was not malignant. I just received my biopsy results: it's not malignant. Thank you, Fr. Stanislaus.
Daughter spared serious injury - MJL, e-mail
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for my 36-year-old daughter, Mary, who was involved in a serious auto accident. I consider it a miracle that she was not seriously injured when her van overturned. Another driver had gone through a stop sign and hit her car. When we arrived on the scene, police cruisers had the whole street blocked off. Mary was sitting on the side of a step. She had walked away from the accident. I had placed her in Fr. Stanislaus's hands several weeks before the accident happened. He certainly took care of her. Thank you!
Brain tumor is gone - NL, North Haven, CT
Thank you for sending me a prayercard. I immediately prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for my daughter who was suffering from a brain tumor. That was one year ago. She had chemo and radiation for nine months. She went through many physical check-ups and medical tests. Her latest MRI showed only some scar tissue on her brain. Thank God!
Found a job - DJ, Toronto, Ontario
This is to thank Fr. Stanislaus for the graces and prayers that he has granted me in the past month. I had returned to Toronto after living elsewhere for five months, and I wasn't able to find any work. I moved back home and prayed for some job interviews. That very week, I was able to find the job that I needed. I am very grateful for the little miracles that I have received through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus.
Glucose under control - RB, e-mail
I am writing to thank Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński for his intercession to our Heavenly Lord for me. I had just been told I had diabetes and needed to monitor my glucose level for the next week. For the first several days, the glucose level was up and down. I was really upset thinking that I would have to take insulin and would not be able to control it by diet alone. That same day, I received Marian Helper. I am familiar with the "Graces Received" page, and this time I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus to intercede for me. After I prayed, I went to be tested, and the doctor said he could not believe the turnaround in numbers in my glucose level. He said that I should be able to control my glucose by diet. I am extremely grateful for Fr. Stanislaus's intercession and will seriously pray for his beatification.
Healing amazes doctors - JH, Ohio
My grandmother, who is 96, had developed an ulcer on her leg three years ago. The doctors continued to treat it, but it would not heal. She asked Fr. Stanislaus to pray for the healing of her leg, and now it is healed. The doctors are amazed since they thought it would never heal. Many thanks to Fr Stanislaus!
Speedy recovery after surgery - ON, Warwick, RI
In Aug. 2003, I started having pain in my right shoulder. Then, in Dec. 2003, I got injections of cortisone for probable bursitis. Finally, in Jan. 2004, I had an MRI done to find the cause of the pain, and the doctors diagnosed it as a rotator cuff tear. From Dec. 20-May 5, I had to sleep in a chair since I could not lay down in bed. The pain was excruciating. On May 5, I was operated on for a rotator cuff tear and three torn tendons. The surgeons made four incisions. Since I have degenerative arthritis and am 70 years old, I did not think that I would heal well. As I write, it is nearly three weeks since my surgery, and I have healed wonderfully! Only two days after surgery, I had no more pain and needed no more pills. I began to exercise the arm shortly after surgery. My doctor was surprised that the exercises went well. He removed the sutures, and he instructed me to do more exercises. I have been doing them every hour. My wife and I had asked the Venerable Servant of God Stanislaus to intercede for me to God, for the operation and for a speedy recovery. I certainly have recovered rapidly. The sling was taken off on the eighth day after surgery. I expected to wear it for six weeks. I was driving again in two weeks, and that, too, was expected to resume in six weeks. I can lift, stretch, raise my arm, and reach for things. I can pick up my 2-year-old great granddaughter. I do not know of anyone who has had surgery for a rotator cuff tear who has gone without pain and worn a sling for less than 6-12 weeks following the surgery. My wife and I have told many people about Venerable Stanislaus, and we believe that he certainly should be made a saint.
Son gets job after three years - HT, San Rafael, CA
I would like to give thanks with all my heart. I believe that God got my son a job through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. For three years, he didn't have a job. Once in a while, he would have a small project. His work is in computer graphic design. I'll continue to ask Fr. Stanislaus to intercede for the favors that I need.
No malignancy - NH, Ipswich, SD
In April, I was diagnosed with an ovarian tumor. Cancer was suspected. I prayed for Fr. Stanislaus's intercession that the tumor would be gone as I waited for the biopsy. Or if that were not possible, that there would be no cancer. The biopsy revealed that there was no malignancy. Although I was not granted a miracle, I believe that I received a grace from God through Fr. Stanislaus's intercession.
Friend finds work - MO, Derwood, MD
I have a friend in California who had been looking for a job for a very long time. She finally retrained for hospital work to expand her job possibilities. Yet, three months later after graduating from the training program, she had no job. I said the Novena to Fr. Stanislaus on her behalf, and now she has found a job. Thank you for guiding me to Venerable Stanislaus.
Daughter gets better job - PS, Aurora, IL
I have been saying the prayer to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński for about a year now, and my prayer has been answered. I asked for help for my daughter who had started a new job. She was in a sales position, and it didn't seem to be working out. Then, she was offered a different position in the same company, and it is working out nicely. Her stress level has gone way down, and she is much happier. She now enjoys a regular salary and full benefits. I am sure that Fr. Stanislaus has intervened for her.
Tumor not malignant - AMS, Wichita, KS
I wish to thank Fr. Stanislaus for his intercession. My granddaughter had intense pain in her side for months. Finally, surgery was scheduled since the doctors suspected it was cancer. The tumor that was removed was a very rare type, but it was not malignant. We are thankful for this great favor.
Help in finishing degree - KM, e-mail
My son had been studying for his master's degree as a long-distance learner. Then he wanted to see if he could study on campus and find a place to live there. His plans depended on his finding a job so he could afford the move. The background to this is that finances are very tight in our family, and my son has had a lot of struggles in this area. Well, I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus, and my son did find a part-time job on the campus shortly thereafter. This was a shot in the dark since we live in New Jersey, and the university is in Virginia. I will continue to pray to Fr. Stanislaus for the many needs of my family, and I will keep you posted.
Grew in trust - NG, Chicopee, MA
I want to personally say "thank you" to Fr. Stanislaus for interceding on my behalf to our Lord. I was suffering from really bad acid reflux and nothing was helping me. I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus. Then, I went for a test to determine what was wrong. Nothing life-threatening was found. It turned out to be something stress-related instead. I am grateful to Fr. Stanislaus for his help. He helped me to trust in God and have hope.
Injury only minor - KC, Dracut, MA
I am so grateful for Marian Helper magazine. That is how I learned about Fr. Stanislaus. I received a prayercard a while ago, and I have been praying to him ever since. Recently, I lifted a heavy bag of soil, and I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus that I wouldn't have a hernia. I went to the doctor, and the doctor said that she didn't think I had a hernia — just a bad strain. Also, I had been praying to Fr. Stanislaus because my hair was falling out and getting really thin due to stress. Now I see regrowth and am so thankful.
Daughter passes courses - JL, Canada
My daughter was in her final year of university and finding her courses difficult. She wanted to give up. So, I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for his intercession to help her get through her courses. I believe that the graces she received through his intercession helped her. She passed her courses with four B's and one C. To her, getting these grades was like getting A+'s!

Healthy after cancer scare - SS, Ballston Lake, NY
A while ago, my cousin was in an emergency room in pain with female problems. While she was there, the doctors discovered that her appendix was enlarged. After it was removed, she was told some shocking news that it was enlarged due to a cancerous tumor.
She was only in her twenties at the time. We were all shocked as she began to undergo tests to see whether the cancer had spread to other parts of her body. Apparently, the tumor had started to grow through to the outside of the appendix. I had Fr. Stanislaus prayercards on my nightstand, and I immediately began to ask him to help her and pray for her.
Once all her tests were completed, she was told she was cancer-free! The cancer had not spread, and she has been healthy ever since.
'Minor miracle' for grandson - JB, Saratoga Springs, NY
I have a 6-year-old grandson who was born with a learning deficiency. He was one-and-a-half pounds at birth and had to remain in the hospital for many months.
Over the years, he had made good advancements, but he had refused to give up his diapers. When he began school, this, of course, posed difficulties. In December 2004, I began asking for Fr. Stanislaus's intercession. By May, my grandson was still rejecting any notion of giving up his diapers. Then, on May 25, I implored Fr. Stanislaus from the depths of my heart to intercede before Jesus to "heal" this situation. On June 25, my grandson suddenly, out of the blue, said he no longer wanted to wear diapers. There had been no discussion that preceded his decision.
This may seem small, but to my daughter and her husband, this was a minor miracle.
Career dream come true - NW, e-mail
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus five weeks ago for him to help me to get a career in my educational field. I landed a career in my field with full-time hours, benefits, and a clientele who needs community service workers.

'Lost' but for Fr. Stanislaus - PS, Anchorage, AK
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus so that a family member would get a summer job right away. Five days after dropping off the employment application, the job offer was made. It was accepted after two rounds of interviews and even with the job application being lost in the store! A new application was filled out and a copy of the old job application was delivered. After checking references, the offer was made. We were so happy.
Stress relief - PZ, Verona, MO
I just wanted to share my story with everyone. In August, I was reading in Marian Helper about praying for intercession from Fr. Stanislaus for needs one might have. So I did.
My fiancé needed special prayers to help him with emotional problems, including stress. Within a couple of days of me offering prayers, he began to show signs of improvement from these feelings. Because of Fr. Stanislaus's intercession, God has answered my prayers.
I will continue to pray for Fr. Stanislaus's beatification. I am also sharing my story with others.
Grandson got position - RZ, North Windham, CT
My daughter gave me her copy of the Summer issue of Marian Helper. I was inspired by the stories in the "Graces Received" page, so I called and received a copy of the Fr. Stanislaus prayercard, for which I was very grateful.
I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus on behalf of my grandson, who was applying for an employment position. After only one week of praying for him, my grandson got the position!
Passed math class - AMG, La Mesa, TX
I must admit, currently I’m confined within prison walls. Yet, our Lord is doing great work on preparing me to reenter society, including helping me to start college while I’m here.
I started my first semester, and I had to take a developmental math course. I am terrible at math. On the day I was to start my classes, I had found and read an issue of Marian Helper magazine. I was attracted to the “Graces Received” page and decided to make Fr. Stanislaus a patron of my studies. As a result, as the course progressed, my grades steadily improved.
On the night of my final exam, I remembered the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus, and prayed for his intercession for a passing grade. I needed to score an 80 on the exam to pass the course. I wound up scoring a 66.
Just as I was starting to feel down, I believe Fr. Stanislaus shot that golden arrow. My teacher felt compassion for me and said, “I don’t know why, but I want you to make up a past test.” Even with that, I was borderline passing. Then, the torrent of grace flooded me, and my teacher said, “Again, I don’t know why, but I am going to give you some extra points that you earned by always doing your homework and always participating in class.”
All I could say was, “Thank you, and God bless you!” Later I saw that my transcript showed that I passed the class with a “C” — “C” for Christ, no doubt!
Thank you, Fr. Stanislaus.
Prayers for pregnancy answered - KH, e-mail
After one year of trying to have a child and another year undergoing infertility treatments, I turned to Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński. Within three months of praying to him, I found out I was pregnant with twins. Then, eight months later, I delivered two healthy boys!
The pain is totally gone! - HS and OS, Grimsby, ON, Canada
My wife suffered from a tear in one of her shoulder bones that was so painful that she could not even lift as much as a cup of tea. She went to several doctors and specialists. There was no cure for her. They told her she had two options: She could undergo surgery with no guarantee it would do any good, or get cortisone shots on a weekly basis to make the pain somewhat bearable.
Then, I read in Marian Helper about a man who seemed to have the exact same problem and was healed through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus. So I began to pray to Fr. Stanislaus, too. We had never heard of this “saint in the making” before. We read up on him. Lo and behold, after a few short months of prayers, my wife began to notice improvement in her condition. She can now lift a cup of tea. In fact, she lifted a tub of honey with her right arm the other day, no problem.
What is interesting to us is that the hole in the bone is still there, but the pain subsequently caused by this is totally gone! We made a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, last spring, to thank God and the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Stanislaus.
Thank you to all the Marians in Stockbridge for the wonderful work you are doing.
Disabled granddaughter receives help - CR, New Fairfield, CT
My granddaughter is 10 years old, and she has been diagnosed with several emotional and neurological disabilities. She has been on many medications, which worries me, but what worries me most is her schooling.
She needs extra help and individualized care, and I haven’t been confident with the school program that her city school provides her.
I started a novena to Fr. Stanislaus three weeks ago with great confidence that he would intercede for her. We were informed yesterday that the school has decided that she needs a special program and different teachers to help with her special needs!
I am so thankful to Fr. Stanislaus, and I will continue my novena to him with great faith that he will continue to intervene when necessary.
Car trouble goes away - MB, Warrington, PA
I want to thank Fr. Stanislaus for answering my prayers. I had trouble with my car. It kept stalling. I had the mechanic work on it for four days, and he found nothing wrong. I started praying to Fr. Stanislaus, and in two days, my car stopped stalling!
I used to dread each step - MB, South Orange, NJ
I am a 69-year-old woman in relatively good health.
A few months ago, I woke up with severe pain in the lower right-hand side of my back, and I could hardly walk. I waited and prayed that it would go away and get better. It just seemed to linger and linger and was getting no better at all. I went to a chiropractor and he took x-rays and got all the information and x-rays from my orthopedic doctor. He finally started treatment, but I was still in severe pain.
I took pills for the pain, could hardly walk, and dreaded each step I took. I would sit down praying and crying.
I came across a page I had seen quite a few times in Marian Helper about Fr. Stanislaus and read what people wrote about the cures and other favors they received after praying to Fr. Stanislaus. I decided to call the phone number and ask for the prayer for the beatification of Fr. Stanislaus. I started praying to him prior to receiving the actual prayer, and the intense pain started subsiding.
Once I received the prayer, I recited the “Pray for the Beatification of Fr. Stanislaus” and followed all the other instructions with an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be to the Father, went to confession and Holy Communion, and meditated upon his interceding to God for me.
I could hardly believe that the pain was fading and fading. I am now able to take the long walks I enjoy, and am on no pain medication at all. I was told I had a pinched nerve, and the chiropractor is surprised that I was completely cured so quickly and am completely pain free.
I am sure that the Venerable Servant of God Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński interceded for me.
New job a perfect fit - RS, Cheektowaga, NY
I read the “Graces Received” page in Marian Helper magazine with letters from people who have asked for the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus.
I myself had been without employment for two years. There were either no jobs available in my field, or I would respond to help-wanted ads in the newspaper and never get hired.
So, I decided to ask Fr. Stanislaus to intercede for me. I included in my prayer the request that I get a job that involved only working weekdays — no holidays, weekends, or nights.
Well, I received a call asking me if I would like to work part-time on weekdays in a medical office for some friends. I said, “Yes,” and I started my new job on June 2.
Healed of prostate cancer - PFG, Stroudsburg, PA
I had prostate cancer and prayed to Fr. Stanislaus, asking for his assistance. My surgery was successful, and I did not require any follow-up chemotherapy or radiation.
I thank Fr. Stanislaus for his intercession, and I pray for his beatification.
Hired full time - OR, Texas
I wanted to let you know that my daughter had been having problems for about two years finding a full-time job. She would work for temp companies, but she needed a full-time position with benefits since she is a single parent.
The last company she has been placed with as a temp kept telling her to hang in there — and they would try to hire her full time. This went on for several months, and she was getting discouraged.
Then, last week I received Marian Helper magazine. When I read the page about graces received through the intercession of Fr. Stanislaus, I just closed my eyes and said, “Father Stanislaus, I do not know you, but I am reading these letters. Please help my daughter get hired at this company full time.”
Well, that Friday at 5 p.m., my daughter called with the happy news. The company had finally hired her full time!
Thank you so very much for sharing the graces received through Fr. Stanislaus.
After miscarriages, a healthy baby - CW, Troy, NY
I had been praying to Fr. Stanislaus for more than a year that, through his intercession, my daughter would experience an easy delivery and the birth of a healthy baby. You see, this was her fourth pregnancy with the first three having ended in miscarriages. Even this time, she had a few complications with her pregnancy, including gestational diabetes and a Strep B infection.
Thankfully, on May 12, she delivered a healthy son. We are all so grateful for the gift of this new life.
Chemo’s side effects abated - JH, Brownsville, TX
My wife and I requested prayercards of Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński in late June 2006. She had been battling a recurrent high-grade sarcoma, a cancer, since October 2005. The chemotherapy was working, doing its job of beating back the cancer. There were, however, troubling side effects. She came down with neutropenic fever and received blood transfusions. This was an extremely unpleasant experience for her and our family.
Once we received the prayercards for Fr. Stanislaus, she and I prayed regarding her tenth and last cycle of chemotherapy, which went from June 29 through July 3. We prayed that she be free of the persistent fever and the need for transfusions.
Our prayers were answered.
Despite warnings from her nurses and doctors at the cancer hospital that she would likely have a fever and need a transfusion during this last cycle of treatment, she was free of these troubling side effects of chemotherapy.
We are so grateful to Father Papczyński. We know that he helped her during this difficult time. God bless you for your work.
Passing grade - MC, Spring Valley, CA
My 17-year-old daughter was attending summer school for three weeks after failing the second semester of her Algebra II class. She was still having a hard time understanding the material, and she told me she was in danger of failing the class. She had a final exam pending, and her teacher told her that unless she scored an “A,” she would not pass the class.
I could not help her myself because I did not understand the material. On Thursday, the night before the final, I prayed to Fr. Stanislaus for his help. The next morning, I again prayed to him every time I remembered, even at work. I prayed for her to pass the class.
That afternoon, my daughter called me and told me she had scored an “A” on her test and that her teacher confirmed she would pass. I was so thankful to Fr. Stanislaus for imploring God on her behalf.
‘Powerful intercession’ - Sr. TMT, NYC
I am writing in thanksgiving to Fr. Stanislaus for his powerful intercession on my behalf. When medical tests last summer failed to reveal the cause of my bouts with severe pain, indigestion and stomach disorders, I decided to turn my health problem over to Fr. Stanislaus. I was inspired by the testimonies I had read in your magazine.
I had purchased the book of his life and felt confidence in his charity for all kinds of suffering. I cut out some pictures of him and the miraculous image of Our Lady. I held these to my body and prayed, asking him to take care of what the doctors couldn’t.
I got through the year with few problems, then I became ill and was brought to the emergency room. During the course of the night, the source of my problem showed up clearly on X-rays and a CT scan. I had successful surgery to correct a severe bowel obstruction and adhesions. I am now recuperating.
Thank you, Fr. Stanislaus, for your compassionate and powerful intercession on my behalf. I pray for your speedy beatification and canonization.
Homeward bound - RMB, Rural Valley, PA
I read about Fr. Stanislaus in Marian Helper magazine and called for a prayercard. When I received the card, I began praying to Fr. Stanislaus daily for my daughter to find a safe, suitable home for herself and her daughter.
My daughter is a single parent and has had many disappointments in the last several years while looking for a home. Shortly after I began praying, in a catalog I found a beautiful bedspread in my daughter’s favorite colors. I suggested that she buy it now and have it for when she found a home.
Exactly one month later, my daughter found a house for sale in the area that interested her. After seeing the house, she called and told me that, like the bedspread, the house had her favorite colors of red and yellow.
Not only did Fr. Stanislaus find her a home, but he left us a message that it was the right one by the colors. My granddaughter also has about five or six playmates on the street!
When my husband and I visited the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy this year, I stood before Father’s statue and thanked him for his blessing. Again, thank you and thank Fr. Stanislaus for his intercession.
