In a taped statement played over two huge screens displayed in Lichen during the beatification ceremony, Pope Benedict XVI congratulated the Marian Congregation, which had waited for this day for more than 300 years.

This morning in Poland, at the Shrine of Lichen, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, my Secretary of State, in my name proclaimed as blessed Father [Stanislaus] Papczyński, founder of the Congregation of Marian Fathers.
